Responsibilities
Duties: The Engineering Manager at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will be responsible for managing direct reports within the project and design engineering team, including managing their workload, personnel issues, and career development. The duties include managing and developing algorithms for real time linear and nonlinear controls systems for automatic steering and autonomous controls. Managing large amounts of data to determine patterns or trends that can be used to improve performance of controls algorithms. Managing the testing and debugging of new system prototypes to ensure that they meet design requirements. Managing existing system's performance to determine whether the system requires update or replacement. Managing software utilizing model-based design in MATLAB/Simulink. Managing feasibility and impact of the new control systems through simulation and in-vehicle testing using rapid software prototyping. Managing implementation of global initiatives for the development of Guidance Controls. Managing the engineering team and collaborating with suppliers for new controls development and integration for Agricultural and Construction equipment, including precision controls. Designing and implementing experiments to profile algorithm time/performance characteristics. Collaborating with VE Integration teams, Suppliers, Hardware and Software Core team, Design Analysis and Simulation team, Test Lab, Chief Engineers and Platforms during the design and development of vehicle controls. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Salary: $139,200 - $184,800/year.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field, and two years of experience as a Design Engineer or related occupation designing and implementing control algorithms for off-highway such as Construction, Agriculture or Advance Terrain Vehicles (ATV) equipment. The two years of experience must include two years of experience with each of the following: 1) linear and non-linear control theory; 2) Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow or equivalent software; 3) C or C++; and 4) designing controls for hydraulics and electro-hydraulics systems.
