As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the construction process, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
As an ideal candidate, you must have a strong background in the construction industry, with a focus on large government and health care facilities construction and renovation projects.
Our salary range for this position, based on the market data, is $100k to $130k per annum (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).
Key responsibilities: Oversee and manage construction projects from initiation to completion. Demonstrate expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, and quality standards. Effectively calculate construction costs for changes and negotiate equitable contract adjustments. Conduct meetings to resolve problems on construction projects and brief clients and management personnel. Maintain official construction site records and prepare correspondence. Ensure compliance with building code requirements and scheduling methods. Make materials take-offs for construction work, price the value of needed work, and negotiate equitable contract adjustments. Manage crises and conflict resolution with finesse. Implement safety practices in the construction industry. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications to be successful in the role: Must hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required. Must have earned the degree in an ABET-accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years of project experience in the construction industry. Experience must include but not limited to large government and/or health care facilities construction and renovation. Proven working experience in construction management. In-depth knowledge of all facets of the construction process including interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records. Experience in conducting meetings to resolve problems on construction projects, and briefing clients and management personnel. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods. In-depth knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods. Expertise in calculating construction costs for changes. Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry, including a background of familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects. Knowledge of TJC is preferred. Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
