**Your Contribution to Our Mission:**
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is instrumental in ensuring the health, safety and well being of the QinetiQ Inc team.
* Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
* Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
* Prepares and monitor safety programs and manuals for new and existing business units.
* Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, CDC and other federal and local standards.
* Ensures division compliance with the Hazardous Waste Management program.
* Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
* Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
* Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.
* The work of the EH&S Engineer who is an Industrial Hygienist involves industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities.
* Interacts with others in the administration of the workers compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.
* Monitors industrial health compliance.
**To Land This Job, You Need:**
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in safety, environmental, or related field.
* High degree of knowledge of business administration, military quality practices, commercial and Federal Aviation Administration quality systems such as ISO-9000, and MIL-Q-9858.
* In-depth knowledge of industrial safety programs, occupational safety and health administration requirements and Code of Federal Regulations.
* In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and be familiar with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rules and regulations.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization
* Radiation Safety Certfication or the ability to obtain certfication with in 60 days
* Able to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, and stoup
* Able to lift 3 to 50 lbs. in weight.
* Ability to operate a forklift.
* Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
