Are you a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator looking to make an impact on high-profile construction projects? Our client is seeking an experienced an Estimator to join their dynamic team. This role is integral in ensuring the success of construction projects through accurate and efficient estimating practices.
What You Will Be Doing: Scope Analysis: Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the full scope of work and estimate requirements. Data Integration: Utilize historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis to refine unit and person-hour figures. Risk Assessment: Provide technical input on project and contract risks, and ensure final estimates align with project schedules and cost goals. Quantity Calculations: Prepare detailed discipline estimates by calculating material quantities from engineering drawings. Client & Vendor Coordination: Engage with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss estimates and resolve any issues. Estimate Management: Monitor client addendums and advise the estimating team on changes during the estimate period. Design Review: Assist with design options and recommend solutions based on cost, quality, and material availability. Team Collaboration: Partner with the estimating team to conduct project hand-off meetings, ensuring smooth transitions from pursuit to project management. Vendor Research: Identify and recommend vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals. Corporate Alignment: Uphold the company's values and strategic plan while supporting corporate policies. What We Are Looking For: Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience: At least 2 years in construction, estimating, or cost control. Experience with alternative construction delivery methods is preferred. Certifications: Required company or regulatory certifications, including safety certifications. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective support, recommendations, and pricing discussions. Writing & Time Management: Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines. Leadership: Ability to lead estimating activities on large or complex projects.
