Our Finance Shared Services (FSS) Estimating Center of Expertise (COE) organization is seeking an Estimator (Mid-Level or Lead) to support the Government Estimating and Pricing for Space Mission Systems team located El Segundo, CA .
This position will support the U.S. Government and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) type contracts and proposal activities supporting Government Satellites Systems.
The candidate will be responsible for leading a variety of estimating tasks, including estimate and cost volume preparation, proposal development, fact-finding, and negotiation. The candidate will be a part of a unique cross-functional team working with Contracts, Estimating, Supplier Management, Business Development, and Program Management to evaluate customer requests for proposals and statements of work, and maintain communications with internal and external partners to ensure cost proposals are accurate, complete and of the highest quality.
Position Responsibilities: Develops estimates and prices from technical requirements through the design, build, and aftermarket support stages of the program
Develops, prepares and validates estimates and prices
Evaluates requests for proposal, substantiates estimates/pricing and assembles price Proposals
Develops estimating and pricing methods
Evaluates and develops business cases
Performs analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing/estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)
Develops and maintains pricing models
Incorporates data into and maintains structured systems and coordinates program
database requirements
Develops/applies/maintains rates and factors for estimating, pricing and proposals
Performs compliance activities including policy and procedure development, system/tool deployment and training delivery
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in at least one of the following fields: Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics
3+ years of experience performing cost estimating/pricing function
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions
Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
Experience with critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working under tight deadlines with competing priorities
Understanding of proposal process and experience using data analysis to drive decision making
Knowledge of United States Government (USG) Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Typical Education & Experience: Mid-Level (Level 3) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
Lead (Level 4) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $90,100 - $121,900
Summary pay range for Lead: $113,900 - $154,100
