Salary: $70,922 - $78,900

Location: 33 N. High St, Columbus, OH

Position Summary:

COTA's Events Specialist performs professional work in the successful development, execution and post event data management of internal and external events. This valuable member of the team is highly organized, driven and motivated by planning and executing successful events.

Performs duties in alignment with the 2019 - 2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

This Position is Responsible For: Leads planning and execution of all COTA events including the organization's signature events, on-site activations, community activations, groundbreaking ceremonies, ribbon cuttings, press events, job fairs, and employee recognition events; Drives the development of creative and impactful event activations that draw and engage event attendees; Works closely with the Marketing & Engagement and External Relations teams to support marketing activations for sponsorship and community partnership opportunities; Coordinates Team COTA representation at community events, known as the Ambassador Program, in partnership with Community Relations to ensure brand messaging and consistency at all community engagements; Develops key metrics for events and activations; monitors through tracking and post-event surveys to provide insights on event performance and inform future event strategies; Manages and oversees all event contracts and outside vendors and the corresponding budgets; Translates COTA vision and business strategies into actionable engagement activities and deliverables; manages metrics and ensures data driven insights are available to leadership as needed; Oversees promotional items inventory including tracking existing supplies and working with vendors to order new items based on current trends and event needs; Assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies designed to enhance the customer experience, improve ease of use for customers and increase ridership; Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required; and Performs other duties as assigned. At Minimum You'll Need: Requires a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public relations, communications or similar field and five (5) years' experience managing events and marketing projects. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training will also be considered. PMP Certification preferred.
