This pivotal role is focused on the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for commercial product release and stability in cell and genetic therapy programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading the team, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary capabilities and resources to meet business needs. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust process control strategies, as well as providing technical oversight during commercial manufacturing.
Applicants for this role at the company should have a PhD in biological or engineering disciplines with 12-15 years' of relevant experience, or an MS/MA degree in biological sciences, chemistry, microbiology, or a related discipline with at least 14 years' of related experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of process science in the context of commercial manufacturing, particularly for biological and/or cellular and genetic therapies. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven ability to innovate and implement practical solutions are essential. The role requires a champion of quality and regulatory compliance, with a strong knowledge of cGMP requirements, and the ability to work effectively in a global, highly matrixed environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a hands-on, problem-solving approach are also key attributes for the role.
