This key leadership role is focused on the strategic development and operational management of the MSL team, specifically in the area of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and guiding a high-performing MSL team, establishing and tracking performance metrics, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional goals and regulatory compliance. This includes the development and execution of a comprehensive scientific communication and exchange plan with healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of GBS. The Executive Director will also be involved in the hiring, onboarding, and training of qualified MSLs, as well as collaborating with various cross-functional partners to support the overall goals of the Medical Affairs department.
Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a post-graduate degree in life or medical sciences, with a preference for a PharmD, PhD, or equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of work experience, including at least 2 years in previous field management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with Thought Leaders in Medical Affairs, as well as a thorough knowledge of scientific and commercial issues in the relevant therapeutic areas. Experience in launch readiness and execution, particularly in the same therapeutic area, is highly preferred. The role demands a leader with strong strategic, technical, and business expertise, as well as a commitment to innovation, and intellectual curiosity. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to mentor and coach a team and ensure the professional and personal development of direct reports.
