This executive will be instrumental in the development, implementation, and management of a global, enterprise-wide framework for operational and technology risks. The role is pivotal in setting out the company's enterprise-level strategies, governance, policies, and practices to proactively identify, assess, and control operational risk exposures. The successful candidate will be responsible for the second line of defense function, collaborating with business unit executives, and ensuring the alignment of risk management with the firm's strategic plans. Key responsibilities include providing independent oversight of risk management practices, proposing enterprise-level risk strategies, and managing relationships with regulatory agencies. The EVP will also lead a multi-jurisdictional team, oversee risk and control assessment programs, and ensure the company's risk culture is robust.
Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 20 years' of experience in operational and technology risk within the financial services industry, with a strong background in global risk management framework. A graduate degree in a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in risk analysis, risk modeling, and stress testing, as well as a detailed understanding of global regulatory requirements. Experience in a senior executive capacity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with regulators are essential. The role requires a highly organized individual with extensive problem-solving and negotiation skills, and a deep knowledge of risk management principles and strategies. Experience with GSIB is an asset.
