Overview:
What´s the role?
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you'll be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all facilities within a geographical region, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affect. You'll also be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. These tasks include trade skills, repair work, maintenance work, both interior and exterior, "fix-up tasks", and include light plumbing jobs such as fixing a leaky toilet or light electric and changing a light fixture.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Act as the liaison for all regional personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs).
Supervise contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects.
Handle all types of general maintenance such as: brush painting, wallpapering, dry wall construction, roof repair, waterproofing, and exterior downspouts, drain clogging, furniture refinishing, electrical, appliance installation and plumbing.
Perform many of the following tasks: fixing any safety hazards, putting together furniture and other equipment, installing appliances and machinery; doing minor plumbing and carpentry.
Assist in performing scheduled and "as needed" inspection and preventive maintenance to maintain operability of the tools and equipment.
Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and improve office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
Assist with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
Coordinate and assists with departmental and employee moves
Perform basic electrical work and resolves when an electrician is required.
Hang pictures and shelving, as needed.
Dismantle and installs furniture.
Transport goods or equipment as assigned
Perform immediate cleaning duties vital to maintain clean facility.
Drive company vehicle as needed.
Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.
Other functions may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent or one year training. Associate degree preferred.
3+ years of work experience related to project management, vendor management, facilities and/or maintenance.
Other Qualifications:
Basic math, reading and writing skills to be able to count, read instructions and detail vital paperwork.
Ability to prioritize and handle multi-functional tasks.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and against strict time constraints
Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.
Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully, yet convincingly, with other employees.
Knowledge of all functions and related tasks in building maintenance.
Ability to follow guidance and mentorship provided by management and other employees.
Basic computer skills.
Valid driver license.
