TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden. We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. TDA is looking for an undergraduate studying electrical or mechanical for a fall engineering internship.
The Engineering Intern will work with project leaders and engineers to design, assemble, and operate experimental apparatuses. A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.
The Engineering Intern may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The Engineering Intern will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The Engineering Intern will need reliable transportation to travel between work sites.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision design, manufacture, and build test apparatuses Electrically/mechanically install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment Operate testing apparatuses and handle proper data collection Wire circuits and program microcontrollers Integrate sensors and data collection methods Design mechanisms and hardware as needed Document and perform various experiments Convey complex information clearly and concisely Perform other duties as assigned Educations Requirements: Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering Actively enrolled in a bachelor's program at an accredited university Preferred Skills and Abilities: Introduction to Programming (Python, C, etc.) Basic knowledge of microcontrollers and sensors Electrical wiring General assembly Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent) Interested in Design, Controls, Medical Devices, or UAVs Minimum of 10 hours per week Basic Knowledge of Safety Physical Demands: Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time Ascend/descend stairs and ladders No sponsorship, relocation, or housing stipend available for this internship.
This is an on-site internship in Golden, CO - no remote or hybrid option available.
Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, without benefits as this is a Fall Internship and temporary.
