Job Summary:
Lerch Bates is seeking a driven individual with previous experience working on building/construction sites. The Field Technician works to support our Enclosure, Design, and Consulting team by conducting vital testing on buildings under construction. This individual must be able to adapt to change quickly and be comfortable working on construction sites. The Technician aids in keeping utilization targets and keeping projects on schedule. What You'll Do:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
Perform standardized or prescribed BECx testing on new and existing buildings, including but not limited to, electronic field testing, air barrier testing, water performance testing, and IR scanning. Produce an initial draft of test reports and additional work product. Proactively keep clients and stakeholders informed of project status and changes. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients and act as a trusted advisor. Gather and maintain specified records of technical data for test reports and drawings Assists in conducting evaluation tests designed to provide the desired result under controlled conditions Provide field support to Consultant and ED&C group. Manage time effectively using the department look-ahead planner. Explore opportunities to enhance service with or up sale existing clients/projects. Ensure personal utilization consistently averages at the goal level. What You'll Bring:A High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1-year of experience working on building or construction sites or in a like industry. Strong technical skills An ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors. Must have a practical understanding of building structures Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook Critical thinking, innovative, detailed orientated, self-motivated with ideas and recommendations for increased productivity and efficiency Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively to anticipate and identify present and future bottlenecks and equipment needs Maintains and operates with a high level of professionalism and flexibility adapting in a changing, fast-paced environment working with internal and external clients/coworkers Professional verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization Why work with Lerch Bates?
