We are looking for Food Runners to be part of our Front of the House Team
Main Purpose of the Job
The Food Runner should be confident, engaging, and professional while enjoying creating a memorable guest experience. A Food Runner will follow recipe and presentation guidelines to meet or exceed the guest's expectations while also ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are upheld. The food runner act as a liaison between the kitchen expo line and service staff. Responsible for expediting all orders in a timely manner ensuring order accuracy. Transport food from kitchen to dining room, as needed, to provide quality service.
Position Requirements Main Duties
•Assist servers in properly serving food and beverages.
•Deliver food from kitchen to guest's table.
•Perform station opening/closing duties each shift.
•Follow the steps of service of the food runner position.
Specific Responsibilities
•Place food in proper position and announce food as it is placed in front of guest, if required.
•Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
•Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation.
•Assist the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with the established standards.
•Set up station in the kitchen.
•Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.
•Assist in table set up and cleaning when required.
•Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas.
•May assist with other duties as needed, exchanging soiled linen, polishing glassware or silverware, general kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or the Manager, etc.
•Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other areas.
Working Conditions
•Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time.
•Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
•Occasionally access high storage shelving with the use of step ladder.
•Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
•Handling food, objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils.
•Bending, stooping, kneeling .
