Maintaining a professional appearance and courteous demeanor with all employees and customers, while keeping with all company procedures and policies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrimarily handle all lube, oil, and filter services, maintenance services and system flushesThoroughly perform vehicle inspections and address customer complaints using the VCI vehicle inspection formsCommunicate recommended work to the Service Advisor/ManagementMaintain and keep work area clean after each repair or as neededPerform shop maintenance as instructedDuring down time a technician should put away stock, wash floors, etc.Park and lock all vehicles in designated areasAssist lead technicians in repair & diagnosisTransporting customers, assisting in vehicle delivery and picking up parts as necessaryInitiate and participate in training opportunitiesMaintain a low rate of comeback repairRepair each vehicle according to the Customer's authorizationEnsure vehicles are completed on-time and test driven before releasing vehicle to customer RequirementsQUALIFICATIONSCurrent driver's license with a good driving record is requiredOwnership of all hand tools required to perform servicesExperience with minor engine repairsCapability to make a quality inspectionMaintaining a clean work environmentEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate is preferredObtain and retain a minimum of one ASE certification, by the end of the first year of employmentPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stretch. Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to move 50 pounds are regularly required. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, with assistance, is occasionally required. Vision must be sufficient to inspect auto for maintenance and repairs.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Employees should wear the proper safety gear including eye and ear protection.General Service Technician will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.
