Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and a background in accounting and government accounting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports, including accounts payable and payroll. The role requires the ability to stay up to date with tax laws and regulations, as well as the ability to manage and maintain our financial records using software such as Sage.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all financial and accounting records, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger accounting
- Prepare and submit financial reports to management
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for financial decision-making
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including governmental accounting standards
- Oversee and manage the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, banks, and other financial institutions
- Manage the budgeting process and ensure that all financial transactions are in compliance with budgetary guidelines
- Provide training and guidance to other accounting and financial staff members
- Stay current with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles
- Experience with governmental accounting and tax preparation
- Proficiency with accounting software, including Sage
- Experience with accounts payable and payroll processing
- Ability to analyze financial data and make recommendations for financial decision-making
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
