As a Government Grants and Contracts Accountant, you will be managing accounting and financial reporting for government grants. This role ensures compliance with grant regulations, accurate financial reporting, and effective grant management processes. You will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure the proper use of grant funds and adherence to grantor requirements.
What you will do in your role: Monitor and manage financial activities related to government grants. Maintain accurate records of grant expenditures and revenues. Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors as required. Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including allowable costs and procurement standards Reconcile grant-related accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements. Coordinate and help prepare timely budget reports, forecasts, and compliance. Develop and monitor budgets Track and report on variances between actual expenditures and budgets. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all expenditures and transaction activities Communicate grant related financial information to internal and external stakeholders. What you will need to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of accounting experience, or 11 years of accounting experience, Nonprofit accounting experience is plus Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamic Ceres and Microsoft 365 including demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
