Position Summary: Tidal Basin seeks a candidate for the role of Grants Manager for an upcoming large-scale, federally funded grants program. The Grants Specialist will work closely with the Project Manager to oversee compliance with the grant requirements.
Will be responsible for tracking grant progress and expenditures, collecting and reviewing required reports, coordinating necessary technical assistance and liaising with other members of the project team, such as the Compliance Lead, the Data Analyst and Reporting and the Invoicing Specialist to track, evaluate compliance with the Grantor Agency.
Duties/Responsibilities: Support project implementation teams by providing resources, tools, and strategies related to grant management and compliance with grant regulations and program policies.
Coordinate with technical assistance and training team to update and design trainings, systems, and procedures for effective and compliant grant implementation.
In coordination with project management teams develop project specific manuals, SOPs, and policies approval during the start-up phase of contracts.
Review and approve grant documents submitted by project teams in accordance with delegated approval thresholds.
Perform ongoing compliance monitoring for administrative activities and support PM as necessary in monitoring the obligation and spending of grants.
Maintain updated database of current and closed grant programs.
Undertakes short-term assignments to establish and launch project, conduct assessments, troubleshoot issues, and provide compliance and closeout support, as necessary.
Provide additional support and expertise related to grants management, as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Required Skills and Competencies: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of effective grants administration practices.
Experience working with state and/or federal grantees and a customer-service orientation.
High level proficiency of MS-Office applications.
Experience with infrastructure, housing and/or public facility projects a plus.
Required Education and Experience: Associate or Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, economics, accounting, information systems or other relevant field; OR, At least 3+ years of relevant experience in grant-funded government programs, or other relevant field.
