Hadramout is an authentic Yemeni food establishment that was founded in 1996. We serve traditional Hadrami dishes in the American context. Formerly family operated, we are expanding our capacity to accommodate the restaurant's growth and are, therefore, hiring talented hospitality experts to join our team at our new location. *Job Summary:* Hadramout Restaurant is seeking a creative and experienced Head Chef who has a passion for Yemeni cuisine and a willingness to embrace and adapt traditional recipes. As the culinary leader of our restaurant, you will innovate and refine our menu, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation are met, all while maintaining the authentic flavors that our customers love. Applicants will not be required to have experience in Yemeni cuisine specifically, but any experience is a plus. *Key Responsibilities:* - *Menu Development:* Lead the creation and ongoing development of the menu, focusing on Yemeni cuisine while incorporating modern twists that appeal to a diverse clientele. Ensure the menu remains innovative, cost-effective, and reflective of seasonal availability. - *Recipe Adaptation:* Adapt and refine traditional Yemeni recipes to enhance their appeal while respecting their authenticity. Experiment with ingredients and techniques to elevate the dining experience. - *Kitchen Management:* Oversee the kitchen's daily operations, including staff management, scheduling, and training. Ensure the kitchen meets all health and safety regulations. - *Inventory Control:* Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the kitchen is stocked with the necessary quality ingredients. - *Quality Control:* Maintain the highest standards of food quality and hygiene, including preparation, cooking, and presentation; including food plating. - *Team Leadership:* Inspire and lead a kitchen team, fostering a collaborative environment where culinary skills are developed and refined. - *Customer Engagement:* Occasionally engage with guests to receive feedback, promote special dishes, and ensure a personalized dining experience. *Qualifications:* - Proven experience as a Head Chef, particularly in Middle Eastern or specifically Yemeni cuisine, is highly desirable, and is a plus. - Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. - Creative culinary skills with a keen eye for presentation and detail. - Excellent time management and organizational abilities. - Knowledge of best practices in kitchen management and food safety. *Education:* - Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience required. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
