About the Role The Company is seeking a Head of Business Development to play a pivotal role in the strategic growth and success of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the business development strategy, with a focus on maximizing the company's unique offerings in the life science industry. This includes joining the leadership team to create an ambitious business development plan that aligns with company-wide objectives, identifying and engaging with potential partners in the life science sector, and leading the negotiation and due diligence processes for partnership deals. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize therapeutic targets and driving the success of the business development plan. A key aspect of the position is to build and maintain a strong network of industry partners and to recruit and mentor a high-performing business development team.
Applicants for the Head of Business Development role at the company should have a BS, MS, or PhD in a scientific field, with at least 10 years' of business development experience, including a minimum of 2 years' in leadership roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, particularly in oncology therapeutics, and a solid scientific background, preferably in therapeutics. Experience in a venture-backed, start-up environment is a plus. The role requires a proven track record in developing and maintaining robust business development plans, as well as the ability to lead high-performing teams and foster long-term relationships with key industry contacts.
