The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the company's strategy in these areas, delivering cutting-edge innovations, and ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity and ethical use of AI in healthcare. This role is pivotal in driving the company's mission to close evidence gaps, improve patient outcomes, and advance the field of medicine through data-driven care. The Head of Data Science and Machine Learning will also play a key role in recruiting, developing, and leading a team of experts, as well as engaging with external partners and customers as a spokesperson for technical innovations.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in machine learning, data science, AI, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity, and a graduate degree in a relevant field. Pragmatic leadership skills, a strong bias to action, and the ability to code and coach a team in production-level code are essential. Experience in a startup environment, a track record of impactful innovation, and a commitment to intellectual honesty and curiosity are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience in a clinical workflow, relationships with life sciences or academic collaborators, and contributions to open-source software. The role demands a collaborative leader who can cultivate partnerships and is comfortable with the deployment and scaling of analytical products in a cloud environment.
