The role also involves overseeing tax accounting processes and, for more experienced candidates, leading compliance and operations, including SEC filings and adherence to the code of ethics. Applicants for the Controller position at the company should have a strong background in finance and accounting, with a focus on taxation expertise, financial operations, and compliance. The role requires the ability to quickly adapt to the unique commodities sector, particularly in the area of carbon permits. Desired skills and qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, CPA or equivalent certification, and a proven track record in financial reporting, tax accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have the capability to advance into a CFO role and effectively manage finance and operations with a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
