Job Description: Head of Finance in Construction (Puerto Rico) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance in Construction (Puerto Rico) with a strong background in accounting to lead the financial management of our company in the construction sector in Puerto Rico.
This role is crucial for ensuring financial stability, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth for the organization.
Responsibilities: Lead the company's financial planning and strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Oversee general accounting, including the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements.
Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for ongoing operations and projects.
Assess and manage financial risks associated with construction projects, considering the specific market factors in Puerto Rico.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with local and federal tax and financial regulations applicable in Puerto Rico.
Oversee the preparation and control of budgets, providing detailed analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Implement and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard the company's assets.
Lead and develop the financial team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a masters degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
At least 7 years of financial leadership experience within the construction industry, preferably in Puerto Rico.
Deep knowledge of tax and financial regulations applicable on the island.
Proven ability to manage budgets, conduct financial analysis, and prepare comprehensive reports.
Expertise in identifying and mitigating financial risks in construction projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in relevant financial tools and software.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Key Competencies: Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate market trends in Puerto Rico's construction sector.
Analytical skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
