This role is pivotal in the company's transition from a development firm to an independent power producer (IPP), and the Head of Wind Development will play a key part in this evolution. Responsibilities include hands-on development from project inception to commercial operation, working closely with the executive leadership on strategic marketing, acquiring real estate rights, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and managing project budgets and schedules. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of development experience in utility-scale wind projects, with a proven track record of navigating complex projects and a strong background in team leadership.
Applicants for the Head of Wind Development position at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree being a plus. A deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, particularly in the areas of wind and solar, is essential. The role requires experience in working on projects within specific energy market regions and a demonstrated ability to manage external stakeholders and permitting activities. The Head of Wind Development will be expected to have a strong network of relationships with landowners and local stakeholders, as well as the skills to prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses.
