MKD Electric is seeking an experienced HS&E Supervisor as part of this role:
What you will do... Through clear and effective verbal and written communication, maintain open and proactive communication with staff, foremen, clients, project managers, superintendents, HR, and executive management on all safety-related matters. Serve as a "safety" leader and valued resource by providing timely guidance and direction as needed. Support and facilitate comprehensive safety training programs in collaboration with the Training and HR departments. This includes managing the planning and execution of safety communication initiatives such as the company Safety Committee, toolbox talks, lunch-and-learns, and safety incentive programs. Lead the development of site-specific safety plans in advance of project work, working closely with project management teams to ensure all safety measures are in place. Conduct routine on-site safety audits and reviews of individual safe work practices. Expertly identify potential hazards, intervene when necessary, and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety. Spearhead accident investigations, follow-up interviews, root cause analysis, and case management. Knowledgeable and practiced at preparing all safety related reports and documentation. Manages process of recommending and purchasing safety equipment, maintains appropriate safety PPE on-site, and oversees the logistics of supplying staff across multiple client locations. Support HR and Training departments with New Hire Orientation and Safety Training. Manage and maintain safety-related databases, such as those tracking locks, harnesses, and hot gears. Conduct monthly building inspections such as first aid kits, AED, fire extinguisher, eyewash stations. Recommends and may participate or conduct coaching and/or disciplinary action on safety matters when necessary. Inherent ability to calmly react to and handle unplanned circumstances thoughtfully and to resolution while communicating to others as may be appropriate for each situation. Preferred experience... 5-7 years of related industrial electrical industry experience preferred Knowledgeable in OSHA, safe work practices, PPE, Confined Space, LOTO, NFP70E, hot work, fall protection, lifts, and trenching regulations and compliance. CPR/First Aid certified. Other certifications & training: MAWPs', PIT, ASP, OSHA 10 or 30 hour, etc. are highly desirable. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet navigation. Self-motivated, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, display a professional attitude.
