Description of Job This role is part-time two year term-limited and will be based in the San Luis Valley with options to work at Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center as needed.
History Colorado is implementing a significant initiative to add 150 sites to the Colorado Register of Historic Properties over the next two years. The initiative has been awarded significant grant dollars to support a focused effort in the San Luis Valley that will involve engaging with community and stakeholders, identifying sites, collaborating with History Colorado Fellows authoring nominations, and deploying funds to support sustainability planning and grant writing efforts for 10 historic or cultural sites. Candidates based in the San Luis Valley preferred.
Colorado Heritage for All Engagement Coordination
This position is accountable for:Building and maintaining relationships with San Luis Valley stakeholders and community members.Plan details and logistics for stakeholder convenings in San Luis Valley communities, including coordinating dates and locations, organizing agendas, sending and managing invitations and attendees, coordinating travel, and facilitating at the convenings.Implementing a deeply inclusive outreach approach, including hosting engagement sessions beyond the stakeholder convenings to engage communities in identifying the places and spaces that tell authentic stories and provide collective meaning.Helping to identify and support procurement processes and selection processes for consultants to support sustainability planning and grant-writing for the Heritage for All Sites.Managing sustainability planning process for the selected 10 sites, and connect grant-writing consultants to each project as a "match-maker".Managing the grant project budget and prepare project reports as needed.Helping to develop a next-generation workforce that will support community preservation in the San Luis Valley by training students and community members in key processes, including community engagement, identification of historic places, and historical research and writing.Coordinates monthly team meetings with the SLV Heritage for All Team, including the Fellows, Fellowship Director, and project leadership.
