Description Position Details:
Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the IT Department Director, assists with input, programming, and training for Electronic Medical Record/Hospital Information System with the goal of maximizing system capability and efficiency. The Nursing Informatics is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge into nursing / clinical practice. Under general supervision, this role leads and facilitates the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision making in all roles and settings. Performs essential functions of a Systems Analyst. Develops and provides staff and physicians EMR/HIS education program (s). Works closely with clinical staff and physicians to solve immediate and long-term problems and enhance system and staff functions
Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in information technology or medical related field preferred.
Experience:
Two or more years as a Systems Analyst or Informatics Specialists or related IT field, with working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital processes. Related medical industry experience required. Good understanding of use and implementation of EMR/HER application systems and workflows within a hospital system. Knowledge of computer systems principles, methods, and system life cycle principles is required.
