Role: Infrastructure Engineer, Tech Lead The Infrastructure Engineer Tech Lead is a technical role within the Infrastructure Organization. This associate is a hands-on, individual contributor who also exhibits the ability to lead initiatives to completion within his space, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects. This associate will participate in steady state support and continuous improvement in the function and stability of our network infrastructure. The individual and team supports all components of the network including; switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing, Azure based network security groups, VPN, LAN, WAN, wired and wireless networks.On call support will be required.
Project Responsibilities: Collaborate with our other IT application teams, information security teams, and infrastructure teams to architect and produce a detailed design of network infrastructure for the implementations of new applications and modification of existing applications. Execute the implementation of all components of network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues and collaborate on issue resolution. Ensure documentation is updated and complete for production support teams and activities, build from scratch where required. Steady State Responsibilities: Guide level one firewall and load balancer support team in issue resolution when its escalated. Create or modify complex firewall rules (Palo Alto) or load balancer set up (F5, Azure) that exceed the capabilities of our level one support team or set the standard for ongoing rule set up. Perform level one and two issue resolution for non-firewall network functions; LAN, WAN, wired, wireless, etc. Perform administrative functions related to the function of or monitoring of network devices Use ITIL processes (especially problem), past experience, and ongoing learning to continuously improve our network infrastructure. Qualifications 5+ Years of experience in networking, firewall set up and administration, load balancing Ability to independently resolve network, firewall, and load balancing issue or execute new set up once corporate standards are shared. Ability to share knowledge with intent to increase overall team knowledge and skills. Ability to organize assignments, recognize when workload exceeds capacity, and request help Ability to articulate points of view or recommendations in written presentations or in discussion in terms understandable by management and peers Basic knowledge of ITIL (incident, problem, request) processes and willingness to learn Service Now and vendor partner tools/portals to execute those processes.
