Job Title: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist Job Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Job Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day - 4x10 - 7am - 5pm, 40 Hours Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Two years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred License: Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association, Current ACLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, Fluoroscopy Certification Must-Have: Radiation badges supplied by the vendor Job Description: - Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures. - Offer patient care under the supervision of the RN. - Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acting as a scrub assistant and maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures. - Operate imaging equipment and monitor and document procedure images and events from the control room. - Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and manage expectations. - Teach patients and families about pre- and post-procedure physical conditions. - Maintain order and cleanliness of the unit, ensuring appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures. - Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation in accordance with departmental standards, accurately documenting productivity information. - Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential areas for improvement and potential safety hazards, and taking appropriate actions. - Promote the mission, vision, and values of the health system and adhere to service behavior standards. - Perform other duties as assigned.
