Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in University Park, IL. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy and ensuring efficient movement of goods within our distribution facility.
This role requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities: Maintain and update inventory records using NetSuite (our ERP software). This includes entering purchase orders, comparing packing lists, and managing item receipts. Verify accuracy of product receipts against expected values, and make the proper adjustments where needed. Work collaboratively with the team and our vendors to investigate and understand discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels to ensure product turns in an acceptable time period. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy. Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions as needed. Generate reports on inventory status, performance metrics, and trends for management review. Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements related to inventory management. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the inventory management function. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software. Experience with Microsoft Excel required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of inventory control best practices and procedures. This position is an in-house position and not remote.
