Applicants for the Issues Management Director position should have 10-15 years' of experience in issues and crises corporate communications, with a focus on public affairs. Experience in working with a legal team is essential, and a background in an agency or firm with a similar focus is highly preferred. The role involves playing a key part in both preventing and managing issues, advising on communication and reputational matters, and assisting in the creation of crisis preparedness protocols. The ideal candidate will be a chameleon communicator, able to adapt their style to different audiences, and will have a strong leadership and teamwork ethos, with a commitment to mentorship. Proficiency in crisis preparedness best practices and the ability to work with PR agencies and external law firms are also required.
