So it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time candidate for the role of Junior DOB Expeditor to join our team!

By ICL definition, a Jr. DOB Expeditor is responsible for the research, resolution, and regulation upkeep of building violations while working alongside the Expeditor Supervisor for Facilities. They will establish efficient workflow processes and implement modifications to improve the overall effectiveness. - tasks vary according to the season and individual needs of the program.

To be considered for this role, you MUST adhere to and understand the requirements and tasks listed below...

MIN. ROLE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES: Location: Brooklyn, NY 11215 (Main Base) Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:30am - 4pm VALID Driver's License State ID - NY, NJ, CT, or PA State preferred but not mandatory EDU: G.E.D./H.S.E. or higher + OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification or completion thereof within 90 days of hire EXP: 2 years min. of building compliance, expediting, or related field exp. - preferably in a non-profit setting Completion of the Filing Representative Course (FRC) within 90 days of employment - depending on DOB course availability Proper attire at all times - this includes business casual or professional outer/inner-wear ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to maintain confidentiality of private information Ability to be detail-oriented with strong time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of various software programs, including MS Excel, MS Word, Work Speed, or similar software Strong interpersonal dexterity - MUST exhibit interest in being a team player and all its affiliated characteristics Strong communication, writing, conveying, and critical thinking skills - bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatory JR. DOB EXPEDITOR TASKS: Maintain accurate records of building violations, permits, and correspondence Prepare reports and documentation for violation notices and enforcement actions Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and project teams Prepare and submit permit applications and other documentation to regulatory agencies Participate in training sessions and workshops on building codes and compliance procedures Collaborate with our in-house team to gather necessary information to resolve any permitting issues Assist supervising Expeditor in researching building violations and developing strategies for resolution Stay up to date with the latest changes in building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable laws Respond to inquiries from contractors, architects, and property owners regarding code requirements and permit processes Research building violations, develop strategies for resolution, and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. Communicate with vendors, staff, ICL management, building inspectors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
