Responsibilities: Work in all operations related to integrated pest and insecticide resistance management, biological control, weeds suppression, selective herbicide sprays, phytosanitary inspection procedures, basic diagnostic diseases and scouting practices inside of controlled environments, maintaining assigned area and equipment in excellent operating conditions.
Besides, he/she should carry out basic research for helping to solve agronomical issues.
The Assistant will potentially perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the research program.
The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
In addition, the Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
The work will be closely supervised.
Assistant, as with the Field and Processing Worker, can be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
Tasks may include Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related field.
Work directly with chemicals Working outdoors in hot weather Use uncomfortable and hot personal protective equipment Repetitive movement of opening and closing the hand lift 50lb bags.
Handle 50lb tanks.
Mix recipe components Open and close product tanks Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
