Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our brokerage team. In this role, you will assist with various accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and be eager to learn and grow within the accounting field.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
Conduct account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Perform bank reconciliations to verify cash balances and transactions.
Support financial auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Utilize Sage and PR Pay or other accounting software for data entry and reporting tasks.
Manage accounts payables/receivables
Pay vendors and invoice preparation.
Customer Service regarding all payment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Understanding of fundamental financial concepts and principles.
Experience with journal entries, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation is a plus.
Familiarity with tax regulations and securities law is advantageous.
Knowledge of wills, trusts, estate law is a nice-to-have skill.
Proficiency in accounting software such as PeopleSoft is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills for collaboration within the finance team.
