The Position
The Lab assistant will support the clinical services business by receiving and attending patients, act as a liaison between the reception and laboratory areas and supporting our growing pathology research business.
Responsibilities:
Receive and attend patients that come in for clinical tests or results.
May perform receptionist duties
Deliver specimen samples to the medical technology bench.
Archive slides and blocks.
Search for slide and block requests.
Maintain area well-stocked and request necessary supplies.
Implement the SOP protocols daily.
Always wear personal protective equipment.
Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner with minimal supervision.
Assisting other areas of the laboratory as requested by the laboratory manager and or department supervisors.
Requirements and Skills
High school graduate
Laboratory training/experience desirable
Bilingual
High work ethic, accountability, and reliability by prioritizing patient care while treating all staff with curtesy and professionalism.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Observe the safety and hygiene measures set up by the Company.
Flexible and adaptable; readily adapts to change, systems or methods.
A team player with a helpful attitude.
Contribute to improving the productivity and competitiveness of the Company.
Not engage in improper or immoral behavior that may affect the best interests of the Company.
Working Conditions/ Physical Activity:
The employee often must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with arms.
The employee must occasionally sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Visual abilities needed include close vision, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
