Designer II Reports To: Project Manager Primary Areas of Focus Site ConstraintsGradingInternal Redlines Core Responsibilities Identify significant site constraints.Interpret project plans to determine where to place utility and piping systems.Read maps, surveys, and plans to note land grading, nearby structures, and other factors affecting piping and utility systems placement.Perform basic site grading with ASE, feature lines, or corridors, to determine finished floor or pad elevations and open space grades.Generate earthwork models and utilize Civil 3D tools to perform quantity calculations and identify deep cut and/or fill areas.Prepare basic exhibits.Generate internal redlines on design-specific comments and perform QA/QC on redlines for simple sites.Format base files from external project team members for land development projects.Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.Coordinate with external team members and subconsultants on complicated design elements.Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.Perform other duties as assigned.Achieve an 85-90% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training. Preferred Skills & Experience High School Diploma or GED.Associate degree in Construction Management, Computer Aided Drafting/Design, or a similar field ideal.Minimum of 7 years of experience using Civil 3D or Land Development Desktop to design and prepare construction drawings for Land Development projects.Expert in Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.Coordination between AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS, a plus.Attention to detail, excellent communication, and multi-tasking skills.Proficient understanding of municipal codes.Diversified experience within various stages/design elements of a project is a plus.Valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Physical Requirements Required to stand, walk, and sit.The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.The position requires a normal range of hearing.The employee must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.Noise levels are consistent with a standard office environment.
