Position OverviewAutodesk is looking for an experienced and motivated legal contracts manager to support our deep portfolio of products serving the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry (including buildings, transportation, water and industrial segments). You'll be partnering with other legal professionals and a variety of product teams (from mature professional design products and services to recently acquired offerings that target new customer segments for Autodesk), enabling innovative development and efficient problem solving. You are a talented self-starter looking to join a dynamic Product Legal team. You will have an interest in software and innovative technologies and possess strong communication skills and a learning mindset.
You will report to a Senior Director, Corporate Legal, and this position is a hybrid role, based out of our San Francisco, CA office OR our Toronto, Canada office.
ResponsibilitiesPartner with product development and marketing teams to help create robust, secure, compliant and delightful products and services for designers, architects, engineers and project owners.Review and negotiate master services agreements, software licenses, vendor agreements, NDAs, sponsorships, and other commercial contracts to enable the business to move at a nimble pace.Support the development and release of new technologies and features across our desktop products and cloud services. You will be identifying and solving issues related to IP, privacy, data security, social media, competition and other legal and regulatory areas.Guide business team members through product release processes, privacy, security, and analytics screenings, and marketing reviews.Help to develop relevant training materials to present to the product and marketing teams and advise them on adherence to the current law, regulatory environment and Autodesk corporate policies.Support M&A and integration activities for the newly acquired entities.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree with excellent academic credentials.5+ years of contract management experience (including review, analysis, and drafting), either as a contract paralegal or legal professional in similar roles in-house.Ability to communicate efficiently, work with business representatives at all levels of seniority, and understand business objectives.Strong organizational skills and ability to be flexible and self-directed in a fast-paced environment with limited direction or under the supervision of lawyers.Demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills (both verbally and written).Interest in learning about innovative technologies, cutting-edge legal topics, IP and open source software.Preferred QualificationsWe prefer an expertise in managing and drafting a variety of contracts and in negotiating all types of commercial transactions.Background in supporting both product development and marketing teams.Excited by the challenges and opportunities the software industry presents.Ability to handle ambiguity, juggle many matters at once, and easily shift from one situation to another.Excellent presentation, negotiation, and drafting skills.Hardworking, accountable, motivated.Collaborative and collegial.BenefitsFrom health and financial benefits to time away and everyday wellness, we give Autodeskers the best, so they can do their best work.
