Description: Position Summary:
Provides professional physical therapy services to complement the Physical Therapist's role of delivering superior care.
Essential Job Functions:
Follows through with treatment plans as established by a Physical Therapist
Observes patients during treatments
Compiles data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to the Physical Therapist
Understands and complies with universal precautions, safety and risk policies and procedures
Assists with department QA reports and records
Performs necessary documentation including progress notes and logs in timely manner
Monitors treatments administered by Physical Therapy Aids and/ or Rehab Technicians
Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory, answering telephones and taking messages
Utilizes and maintains equipment and supplies
Prepares supplies as needed
Keeps exam tables and pillows sanitized after every patient
Sanitizes and keeps the clinical area tidy
Performs Swinex pool maintenance on a daily basis to include placing appropriate chemicals in the pool, performing testing and keeps area clean and safe
Maintains patient and Company confidentiality at all times
Performs other appropriate duties as requested by supervisors
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and maintenance type issues
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Secondary Job Functions:
Provides innovative input into the development of the departmental environments and processes
Creates and maintains policy and procedures to State and Federal regulations
Creates and maintains policy and procedures in relation to hospital/ clinic regulations
Requirements: Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily an action position requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting and lifting up to 75 pounds. At times must lift up to 100 pounds. Potential for long periods of sitting or standing. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and other facility operating systems. Must have auditory acuity to effectively interact with patients and public.
Essential Qualifications:
Associate degree of Physical Therapist Assistant
Level III CPR Certification
Current Kansas Licensure
Must pass a 40 hour on the job training schedule with appropriate testing
Learns new concepts and procedures quickly

Ability to manage time and appropriately prioritize tasks and responsibilities
Ability to communicate effectively communicate with co-workers, vendors and other people in contact with in a professional and courteous manner
Punctuality
Preferred Qualifications:
Orthopaedic experience
Previous medical office experience
Clinical computer application experience and/ or training
Work Schedule:
Schedule is varied based on the needs of the Physical Therapists and patient volumes. Lunch is at least 30 minutes, but not more than 60 minutes, and is also determined by patient volumes.
