Collaborates in the development and modification of the RN's comprehensive nursing plan of care for all types of patients. Implements aspects of the plan of care. Participates in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients. Serves as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel. Participates in the evaluation of patient responses to interventions. Communicates and collaborates with other health care professionals. Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs. Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. Provides routine care for patients. Observes patients' health. Reviews medical charts. Assists physicians and registered nurses. Communicates with patients and their families. Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and Doppler. Administers medications (no IV medications) Provides wound care. Prepares administers or enemas. Assists with patient comfort.
