Job Summary:
Monti Magic Preschool is seeking an energetic and passionate early childhood educator to provide strong teaching, leadership, and direction for the nature-based preschool program at Bertram Chain of Lakes. The lead teacher will be responsible for all aspects of the students' experience and for developing strong partnerships with parents. This teacher must be eager to spend their days teaching children outdoors without hesitation to get a little dirty and a little wet at times. The ideal candidate has a love and knowledge of nature and the outdoors and enjoys educating children ages 3 to 5 in a mixed group learning community. Additionally, the candidate will: embrace the mission of the district; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; function very effectively as a member of a collaborative teaching team; engage enthusiastically with families and other members of the school community; and embrace the opportunities and challenges of teaching in an innovative, start-up program. Organization, reliability, flexibility, and a love of being in nature are key to the role.
Responsibilities: Lead mixed-age preschool classroom in daily curriculum activities focused on outdoor exploration and nature-based learning Provide a variety of nature-based materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play Use an integrated, nature-based approach to teaching early literacy and math skills Organize and lead outdoor activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development Lead field-based learning opportunities in outdoor classroom Essential Skills Required: Effective communication and teaming skills, willingness to be flexible and excellent attendance.
