A General Maintenance Mid- Level Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and common areas. Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment. Complete daily checklists and document all work performed using the hotel's Maintenance Program. Monitor and report mechanical readings, water pressure, and temperature readings to the Chief of Engineering. Respond promptly to guest requests and radio communications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance department and mechanical rooms. Assist in Loss Prevention and emergency response as needed. Actively pursue training to enhance mechanical and electrical skills. Collaborate with other departments to ensure teamwork and efficient operations. Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and minimize the carbon footprint. •1-2 years of experience in general building maintenance or construction; hotel experience is a plus.
•Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry preferred.
•Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
•Strong communication and customer service skills.
•Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50-100 pounds.
•Frequent standing, moving, and handling of objects and equipment.
•Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling.
