New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

OVERVIEW:
To facilitate the district Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program; to perform asbestos abatement under AHERA protocols; to perform specialized mechanical work throughout the district; identify, repair, and/or replace components and systems assist in training on procedures and proper use of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School education or equivalent Valid Arizona driver's license Five years experience in the maintenance related field Must hold valid Asbestos Building/Asbestos Removal certification Must hold valid State of Arizona Structural Core & General Applicator certification Working knowledge of a variety of trades, tools, applications, techniques, procedures, methods and safe working practices following all safety and OSHA requirements Trained in proper use of ladders, high lifts, boom trucks, and scissor lifts of various heights Ability to coordinate workload using established priorities; to work alone and unsupervised Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships Ability to work overtime and to change schedules with minimal notice; willingness to work non-regular hours (weekends, night shift, swing shift, holidays) Ability to lift and/or to move 100 pounds DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform asbestos removal, as needed, per maintenance supervisor according to AHERA protocol and federal guidelines Serve as a resource regarding asbestos containment and removal Respond to pest intrusion issues and determine course of action according to established guidelines Perform specialized mechanical work throughout the district to assist skilled tradesman Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning and repair of district sites Service a variety of components, machinery and related equipment Maintain grease traps; install and maintain time clocks and pumps for kitchen grease traps Repair, design, or replace restroom partitions district wide Assist in the training of assigned personnel on procedures and proper use of equipment Ensure adequate availability and supply of materials to complete assignments in a safe and timely manner Regular and on-time attendance required Perform other related duties, as assigned, to support the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Keep service vehicle clean, orderly, and properly stocked with parts and supplies Process work orders and related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner Assist in keeping shop clean Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities SUPERVISION
