Maintenance Worker

Qualifications: •Proven experience as a maintenance or janitor •Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision by following all community procedures and guidelines and having the ability to follow through on assigned tasks, and demonstrates initiative •Resident -oriented and friendly •Prioritization and time management skills •Working quickly without compromising quality •Knowledge of English language •Weekend employment required •Desire to work with seniors that may suffer from dementia and/or mental illness •Ability to handle multiple priorities and to perform tasks with frequent interruptions •The ideal candidate have a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, carpentry and general maintenance! •Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative Responsibilities: •Assist with regular facility inspections for safety, upkeep, and appearance. •Respond to maintenance requests by Staff & Residents •Repair damages in occupied and vacated rooms in a timely manner •Available in case of emergency in the facility •Responsible for performing all tasks assigned in order to create a safe, secure, and inviting environment for residents, families and team members while meeting and exceeding quality service standards. •Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances •Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience •Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate •Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices •Practices safety procedures at all times •Actively participates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals Description: We are looking for an ambitious, and professional maintenance worker to join our passionate team at Signature Senior Living located in Brooklyn, NY 11230.
