About the Role In this role you will help build the next generation of robotic systems within DoorDash Labs from the ground up! You will work with an excellent engineering team to solve novel problems that will drastically change last mile logistics. We're a team of people who live and breathe building robots and complex electromechanical systems. We're unfazed by challenges or new problems and strive to build world class solutions.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture our new autonomous delivery robot platform. Work with our Hardware Engineering and Technician teams to prepare for our launch. Ship tangible products that make a meaningful impact on a billion dollar business. Play a key role in scaling manufacturing of our next generation delivery robots. Have a large impact in a small team, collaborating with every other team on the project with many disciplines and stakeholders. We're excited about you because you have… A BS or MS in Manufacturing Engineering or similar. 5+ years of industry experience, especially in the robotics, micro-mobility, autonomous vehicle and automotive industries. Experience evolving products from prototype to high volume production. Experience in ramping high volume production of complex electromechanical systems. Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially for overseas production (Mandarin desirable). Experience in setting up robust quality control, both in house and with external suppliers. Familiarity with brushless motor drive trains, lithium battery systems, autonomous vehicle sensor and compute systems. A passion for building robots and autonomous vehicles.
