Mechanical Support Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of packaging machinery within a manufacturing or production facility. This position involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical components.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair mechanical components of packaging machinery such as conveyors, fillers, cappers, labelers, and sealers.
Conduct routine inspections of packaging equipment to identify potential mechanical issues and ensure optimal functionality.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to minimize downtime and prevent costly breakdowns.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems with packaging equipment and implement effective solutions to ensure continuous operation.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to coordinate equipment repairs and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment as needed.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Provide training and guidance to production staff on proper operation and maintenance of packaging machinery.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
OSHA 10, or 30 hours.
Proficiency in reading technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in mechanical repair and maintenance.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
