ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL
Responsibilities Float Pool - 4 shifts per schedule (1 month)
Assess patient/family problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations. Position requires providing service to one or more age groups, including young adults through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient. Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient. Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues. Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner. Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside. Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command.Assumes acountability for decisions made. Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation Qualifications Minimum: Two (2) years of RN nursing experience ADN required; BSN preferred Must hold and maintain AZ or compact state RN license (RN) American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (CT ACLS) American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS) Must have strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities Excellent listening and communitication skills are necessary
