Medical Advisor – Independent Contractor

Directs and coordinates all clinical activities, including companywide clinical in-service education to all employees, HCT's and respiratory therapists. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, bylaws, regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines. Attends health plan meetings with administrative and medical staff. Oversees personnel who administer respiratory care services company wide by performing the following duties.

Requisitos:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 1. Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) required.
2. Valid license to practice the medical profession in Puerto Rico.
3. Three (3) years of experience as an MD minimum.
4. Three to five (3 -5) years of experience preferred in the following areas of Utilization Management:
a. second level review for level of care determinations
b. revision of cases where a peer-to-peer has been offered by a payer and completing peer to peer discussion if needed.
5. Knowledge of HIPPA Privacy Act is required as use of customer record is an integral part of the position and privacy of individuals must be protected to the fullest.
6. In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
