We make a difference in the lives of others by helping them Feel Better and Do More.Position OverviewThe Medical Assistant works directly with our providers and the entire care team to deliver exceptional, individualized patient care. This role is responsible for the coordination of care between other departments and partner facilities. The Medical Assistant will complete the Electronic Health Record, and promptly initiate orders for MRI, CT, Ultrasound and Surgery as directed by the provider. The right person for this role will be team-oriented, service-minded, and empathetic in their approach to our patients and their families.Essential Functions•Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication. •Assisting the physicians with coordination of care between other departments, testing and surgical facilities, and/or physician offices. •Assist physician in chart completion including documentation of patient exam, assessment, and plan.•Responsible for adding CPT and diagnosis codes into the electronic health record.•Initiates orders for MRI, CT, US and Bone Scans as directed by the physician on the day the patient is seen. •Provide live phone support as needed for all incoming patient phone calls within the designated subspecialty.•Coordinates patient/clinic flow together with medical assistants.Other:•Anticipate ways to improve patient care and experience.•Assists in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols.•Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.•Other duties as assigned.RequirementsKnowledge/Skills Abilities Required •High School Diploma or GED with Medical Assistant Certification •Effective communication, data entry and typing skills.•Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential. •Ability to learn and maintain quality control standards. •In depth knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and surgical procedures as well as treatment modalities is desired.•Back office medical experience is desired.•Knowledge of EHR system is desired.•Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements is desired.Salary Description $18.07 to $27.11/hour, based on experience.
