We are a seeking an ambitious, friendly, positive, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. We cross train for front and back-office duties and expect flexibility and multi-tasking abilities with great attention to detail and accuracy.
The role of a medical assistant within AARA is to assist Physicians and APCs by greeting patients, taking vitals and weight, answering patient questions, and rooming them to be seen by the Physician or APC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet patients Register patients according to established protocols Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information Answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries Schedule patient appointments Collect co-pays and payments Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals Respond and comply to requests for information Complete other clerical duties as assigned Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality Assist with charting and recording infusion vitals/administration Obtain vitals on patient prior to beginning infusion, during infusion and at discontinuation Draw labs if needed Perform verbal pre-infusion questionnaire with patient Assist with removal/discontinuation of iv Maintain sterile environment at all times Maintain drug inventory & medical supply stock Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential High School Diploma or equivalent A high-level dedication to excellent patient care, office teamwork, detail and accuracy are required Must have good oral and written communication skills, good computer skills, be flexible and dependable, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment A Medical Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited facility Desirable Bilingual in Spanish Working knowledge of phlebotomy IV experience prefered General clerical knowledge
