Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association for healthcare providers
Experience: Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous experience.
What you will do: Operate bone densitometry equipment to perform DEXA scans:
Explaining the procedure to patients, answering their questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned for the scan.
Ensuring Accuracy: Calibrating and maintaining the equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results, and positioning patients correctly to obtain the most precise measurements.
Data Analysis: Analyzing the scan results to produce detailed images and data on bone density, which are then reviewed by a radiologist.
Record Keeping: Documenting the procedure and maintaining patient records, including noting any abnormalities or issues encountered during the scan.
Patient Care: Monitoring patients for any adverse reactions during or after the procedure and providing instructions for post-scan care if needed.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate.
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, team members, physicians and maintain team-oriented relationships.
Ability to effectively learn technical skills to perform essential functions within allocated time frame.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while exercising attention to details and independent judgment within stated guidelines.
Ability to maintain high customer service standards.
Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn and effectively utilize department specific software systems.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as part of a team.
Ability and willingness to float between multiple locations when needed
