We are looking for a Member Relationship Specialist. Being a Member Relationship Specialist starts by building relationships that are founded on people, cooperation, service and trust - and it is fundamental in how we distinguish ourselves in the financial services industry. As the face of the organization, you serve a critical role by providing exceptional service to all credit union and community members, volunteers, employees, and service providers.
As a Member Relationship Specialist, at the Mill Valley Branch, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Sales and Service 40%Provide excellent service to all Members, volunteers, internal employees, and service providers.Cross-sell RCU and RCUSG products and services.Open accounts and match Member needs to RCU and RCUSG products and services.Determine the appropriate loan product(s) to meet the Member(s) needs.Obtain information from Member to complete loan application; examine and collect proper loan documents.Complete loan-funding process and recommend additional products or services to meet Member needs.Research Member questions, problems, and complaints and respond with accurate information. Safeguard member information and ensure confidentiality by following established policy and procedures.Transactions 30% Perform file maintenance on all types of accounts. Perform accurate teller transactions and reconcile cash nightly. Teamwork 20%Conduct audits of Credit Union documents and files. Answer phone and efficiently complete phone requests. Participate in branch, departmental, and company meetings.Perform branch opening and closing duties. May be designated as a membership officer.Non-Essential Functions 10%Orders and maintains branch supplies.Prepares letters, memos, etc. and maintain files as necessary.Participates in Credit Union committees as required.May be designated as a Membership Officer. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Knowledge of financial institution products and services, including loans.
•Thorough knowledge of personal computers with internet/intranet access and office equipment operation.
•Skilled in counting and balancing cash.
•Skilled in the operation of office equipment including personal computers with Internet and intranet access.
•Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
•Ability to identify errors and make corrections.
•Ability to effectively cross-sell products and services using a needs-based sales approach.
•Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
•Ability to work a rotating schedule which will include working on rotating Saturdays.
Licenses and Certifications
•Ability to maintain a valid California driver's license.
•Ability to obtain and maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law, including the SAFE ACT and NCUA part 761.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
•Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
•Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
•Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent standing or sitting at a workstation.
The ideal candidate:
Has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
18+ months experience in a retail sales / cash handling environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law.
Previous financial institution experience preferred but not required (e.g. Personal Banker, Relationship Banker, Customer Service Representative/Manager, etc.).
Bilingual English/Spanish speaker desired.
Compensation: Base starting range: $23.00 to $30.00 per hour commensurate with experience. (This position is also eligible for a 15% GeographicDifferential)
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
